We will look at the contrast between Queen Elizabeth the 1st and Prime Minister of England, Margret Thatcher. Viewing the influences, achievements, and similarities throughout their periods of history, Elizabeth I was born to royalty, Margaret was born to common parents. Queen Elizabeth I was the daughter of King Henry VIII and her mother was Anne Boleyn. Elizabeth I was born on September 7, 1533, her parents were expecting a royal son, but instead they got a royal daughter, she was baptized and christened Elizabeth after her grandmother, Elizabeth of York. The christening took place in what was known as the â€Å"Observant Franciscans at Franciscans at Greenwich,† (Collinson. 2010. At the time of Elizabeth’s birth there were a lot of scandalous rumors about Henry VIII and his second wife Anne Boleyn, and their blasphemous marriage outside the Catholic Church.
